I finally watched both seasons of Stranger Things, and I LOVED it! I had heard good buzz about the show, and knew the sci-fi/supernatural show would be right up my alley, especially considering the show was set in the 1980’s (obviously the best decade to grow up in!). When my son Nick, home from his freshman year of college, said he wanted to watch it with me and my husband, I was sold. Our teen wanted to watch a series with his parents, and spend time with us! I was in a parental swoon of happiness! That the show happened to be fabulous was gravy.
I wish I was up to writing more about the series, but I’m currently having a bit of writer’s block. Despite me recently finishing my masters degree in library science, and theoretically having more time to write, I have a tsunami of commitments at work and home to deal with. In lieu of insightful commentary about Stranger Things, I will leave you with three absolutely hysterical video parodies of the first two seasons.

I am so ready for season three! I can’t wait to see what direction they will go in next, especially as the child actors and actresses age before our eyes, as that might dictate certain plot lines. Although I couldn’t summon up a lot to say in this post, I’d love to hear some feedback from others on what they liked or theories about next season.

GAH! I love this show too… I loved season 1 more because Eleven and Mike were my fav and they were apart sea 2. But DART! Dustin was such a cinnamon roll sea 2 and really popped as a character. I was so glad Eleven made up with the sheriff too. I have no idea what’s coming actually but I’m sure it’ll be fun and …maybe have to do with the other experimented on kids?

Yes, where are the other kids?! Why doesn’t Eleven have any memories of other children, except for Eight, and that was only because of her mother’s memories. Although the lab was closed, are there other evil scientists ? Do any seeds or roots remain of the creature from season 2? So many questions! It’s going to be a LONG wait!

True, since Eight never mentioned meeting others either. But still holding out hope for a few others as to see what powers they would have.

Lol ok funny thing, I’m so used to your comic book reviews that when I saw the title of this post I got mad excited thinking there’s a comic books series on the show n you’d read it.
Still, it’s pretty awesome you watched it and with your son too.

We write book reviews on Mondays & Fridays, but our Wednesday posts are usually about tv, movies or other geeky things we are intrested in!

I actually think the writer’s block works to your advantage here. Rather than forcing anything about Stranger Things to move from your brain to the page, you simply and effectively day you loved both Seasons and allow that to stand. I often find that I just do not have the words to express my love for something other than saying “I loved it!”

I loved it from the first episode! It really captured the 80’s era and I look forward to the little time jump they will make. It will be interesting to see how the mid to late 80’s will be portrayed in season three.
