Thank you to the always amazing Michael @ My Comic Relief who nominated our blog for this mysterious award! Michael is a comic fan, modern myth deconstructor, and a theology teacher so his posts are always thoughtful and fun to read! Check him out!

The Mystery Blogger Award was created by Okoto Enigma and is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging; and they do it with so much love and passion. As such, we are super excited to have been thought of by Michael for this award!!

This award has MANY components to it, and based off Michael’s post, here we go:

As always, here are the rules for the award:

1)  Display the award logo on your blog.

2)  Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.

3)  Mention the creator of the award and provide a link.

4)  Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.

5)  Answer 5 questions from the nominee.

6)  Nominate bloggers.

7)  Notify your nominees by leaving a comment on their blog.

8)  Ask your nominees 5 questions of your choice, including 1 weird or funny question.

Three things about ourselves:

Kathleen:

I hate horror, but Sweeney Todd is my favorite musical.

As nerdy as I am, I just started playing Dungeons & Dragons 2 and a half years ago XD

I like spinach on my pizza. And mushrooms! I love mushrooms 8D

Nancy:

I believe you can love Star Wars and Star Trek equally. Loving one does not preclude the other!

I sleepwalk regularly.

I am a very loyal person, but at times I feel taken advantage of because of it.

Five questions from the nominee:

1)  If you were a superhero in real life, would you let anyone in on your secret?  If so, who?  Why?

Kathleen: No way, man! I care too much about the people in my life to make them targets! Plus I get to be even more broody. You can never be too broody.

Nancy: As I am married, I would definitely share my secret with my husband! But…would I tell my children? I’d say yes at a certain age, but truth be told, my daughter is horrible at keeping secrets and she’d let my secret out in a minute!

2)  Where would you go if you had a two week, all expense-paid vacation to anywhere in the world?

Kathleen: Ooooh. I’ve always wanted to go to Italy. Two weeks seeing the history and art and beautiful countrysides there would be wonderful.

Nancy: While a British Isles trip would be a dream, my family are US National Park addicts. I believe I would want to stay at high-end lodges, and visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton first; and then move to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce and Arches parks. Two weeks wouldn’t even be long enough to do these parks justice!

3)  Regardless of whether or not you actively enjoy doing karaoke, what is/would be your go-to karaoke jam?

Kathleen: Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down.

Nancy: Islands in the Stream by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rodgers. Cheesy I know, but I love that song and it’s relatively easy to sing.

4)  Who would play you in the movie of your life?

Kathleen: I’ve been told I look like Gal Gadot, which honestly was the pinnacle of my existance and if she could play me in a movie, I would die. Literally die.

gg

Nancy: I give the honor to Christina Hendricks of Mad Men fame. While my hair is brunette, I feel her curly hair and curvy figure are a good match for me.  I’m no where near as glamorous as she is, but I can dare to dream!

5)  If you had to have a talking animal sidekick for the rest of your life, what would it be?  Why?

Kathleen: I feel like my dog Rose would have a lot of interesting things to say… she sighs dramatically a lot when we tell her she can’t have another treat or when the puppy is bothering her so she already tells us a lot XD

Nancy: I already have four talking sidekicks who live in my home now! My family has four cats, each with a different personality, and my whole family has made up voices for the cats. If a cat walks by, we pretend to talk in that cat’s voice. We think we’re a laugh riot especially when we make the cats say inappropriate things, but if someone came into our house on the sly and listened to us all talk in the cat voices (the Queen, the lone blustery male, the scaredy cat and the southern belle) they would think we were insane.

The posts we feel are our best:

Kathleen: Though I didn’t care too much for it, I feel my review of The Amazing Spider-Man is one of my best. I really hadn’t read anything like it and I’m glad I expanded a little bit!

Nancy: I’ve had a few popular posts with a good amount of likes and/or comments, but my favorite post was about the book Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell, for it was an honest post about my personal contradictions and becoming comfortable with myself as I get older.
